June Newsletter

Dear CTC Members

This marks my first newsletter for the club. I’ve got some big shoes to fill after Annie! Thank you for the opportunity; I’ll give it my best shot.

Recent Races & Events

Since the last newsletter, we've been an incredibly busy bunch. I've done my best to keep up! Sorry if i have missed anything.

  • Wes & Sarah took on the Marlow Half Iron Distance. Wes finished an impressive 2nd in his age group, while Sarah opted for a strategic DNF after a wrong turn and a few extra bike laps for well-earned hot shower!
  • Dean raced the legendary Fred Whitton, a gruelling 112-mile cycle across one of the toughest routes in Britain. Not stopping there, he also competed in Man vs Horse, reportedly beating 18 horses. We definitely need more details on that one!
  • Adam tackled the Midnight Marathon in Wales, a beautiful but challenging trail run starting at 5pm.
  • Malcolm, Camilla, Sarah C, Christine, and Annie all competed at Blenheim. Despite tough conditions, everyone performed brilliantly and judging by the photos, thoroughly enjoyed it.
  • Annie represented Great Britain at the European Triathlon Championships in Tarragona, finishing an outstanding 4th place, just missing the podium in very hot conditions.
  • Diane & Christine raced the Mid Sussex Triathlon, which was described as a fantastic event - definitely one to consider for next year.
  • Sarah took on Ironman Austria. The smiley finish-line photo may not tell the full story, but she still looked fresh, possibly ready for another lap?
  • Iain completed Ironman Tours, I believe his 9th full-distance triathlon. From swimming with catfish to battling headwinds and heat, another race ticked off!
  • James raced the Eastbourne 10km in sweltering conditions.
  • Heather raced a swim/run in Studland
  • Chris, Adam, and the selfie queen Rosie completed the London to Brighton ride, conquering Ditchling Beacon (plus a puncture!). I read online that it was the hottest and most humid L2B ride to date.
